Awesome - Arden

For my inagural post, I would like to introduce a small band called Arden out of Baltimore, MD. They are currently recording their debut full-length, but have provided a free download of their song "A Slow Spiral Geoffrey" on their Purevolume account.

Arden is a female-fronted piano-pop band in the vein of The Hush Sound, and "A Slow Spiral Geoffrey" follows The Hush Sound's formula quite well. Lead singer Laura Huebschman (try pronouncing that) has a very pleasing, strong voice, more in the vein of The Hush Sound's Greta Salpeter than Versaemerge's Sierra Kusterbeck. Though she sometimes truggles with the high notes, her lower range carries "A Slow Spiral Geoffrey" very well. Equipped with trumpets and organs in additon to piano and your standard pop-rock instrumentation, the song is perfect for any Spring playlist. It's easy to imagine this song as the soundtrack to an April sunrise over a green meadow with the birds chirping and bees buzzing. I only wish there was more!

Right now, Arden is quite unknown in the music community, but hopefully with their full-length they will gain some new fans. This band will blow up, so jump on the bandwagon before they explode!
